New Platform Launched for Missing Persons in Ukraine
A new information platform regarding individuals missing under unusual circumstances has been launched in the capital of Ukraine.
The presentation took place at a press conference in Kyiv featuring representatives from the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
This platform was developed to effectively coordinate the search for missing persons and provide support to their families.
«We have gathered vital information for the relatives of missing persons. Our goal is to create a bridge between the agencies conducting the searches and the families in need of assistance. We want people to feel supported and know that we are doing everything possible for their loved ones», emphasized Maryana Reva, Director of the Communication Department of the Ministry.
The portal offers instructions on how to initiate a search, file a report, provide DNA samples for identification, and learn about rights and social guarantees.
«In each region, we have established specialized centers for locating missing persons. The platform will help families quickly learn about the work of these centers and how to find investigators, learn about criminal proceedings, and obtain analysis results», explained Kristina Podiryako, head of the crime investigation department.
This platform provides comprehensive information about who is involved in the search, where to seek help, and how to cooperate with law enforcement.
«We are committed to clarifying the roles of different agencies and providing up-to-date links. There are clear protocols in each agency involved in the search. We will guide families on where to turn for all necessary information», noted Arthur Dobroserdov, authorized representative for missing persons.
The platform aims to serve as a coordination center for supporting families of missing persons, uniting various government agencies and organizations.
The Ministry's web portal is already available online.
It is expected that the Unified Register for the identification of bodies will begin operating in Ukraine later this year.
