Surge in Electric Vehicle Registrations in Odesa Region
The Odesa region has ranked among the top five regions in Ukraine for electric vehicle registrations in May. A total of 345 electric vehicles were registered in our area, with a significant portion being pre-owned. This information comes from the association "Ukravtophrom".
Registration Statistics and Driver Preferences
According to data from "Ukravtophrom", 345 electric cars were registered in the Odesa region in May, with 77% of them being previously owned. The Lviv region leads nationally with 799 registrations, followed by Kyiv city (779 cars), Kyiv region (556 cars), and Dnipropetrovsk region (518 cars). Overall, 6,168 new electric vehicles appeared on Ukrainian roads in May 2025.
Regarding driver preferences, the Volkswagen ID.UNYX was the most chosen new model among drivers in the capital, Kyiv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions. Meanwhile, in Lviv and Odesa, the Honda eNS1 emerged as the clear favorite among new electric vehicles. Among used cars, the Nissan Leaf continues to dominate in our region.
The State Customs Service reported that since the beginning of this year, Ukrainians have imported over 40,000 electric vehicles, primarily from the United States. The total value of these vehicles reached $810 million. Electric vehicles account for 22% of the total number of cars imported into the country. Customs officials predict that if this trend continues, 2025 could be a record year for imported "green" vehicles. It is also noted that the average cost of an electric vehicle imported to Ukraine exceeds $20,000.
