Major Blaze in Odessa Region
A large fire occurred in the Odessa region. A vast area of dry grass and wheat was engulfed in flames. More than 20 firefighters and 5 units of equipment were involved in the firefighting efforts, as reported by the emergency service.
The incident took place yesterday, June 18, during the day, outside the village of Tykhe. The fire affected dry grass and wheat at the roots. Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze over an area of 1.7 hectares, saving a wheat field covering 100 hectares.
"Fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries. The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are currently being determined. A total of 2 units of firefighting equipment and 11 firefighters from the emergency service were involved, along with 1 unit of equipment and 4 personnel from the national guard's fire unit, as well as 2 units of equipment and 6 individuals from the local community," the emergency service reported.
