Enhancing Inclusive Infrastructure in Odesa

Today, an important meeting took place in Odesa to discuss the development of inclusive infrastructure. The gathering included experts from the «Barrier-Free Movement» project of the Ministry of Community Development, local government representatives, and members of the city council on accessibility, chaired by Deputy Mayor Oleksandr Filatov.

As noted by Mayor Hennadii Trukhanov, Odesa is among the 15 pilot cities participating in the «Barrier-Free Movement» project under the patronage of the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska.

The project, funded by city, regional, and state budgets, aims to create a pedestrian inclusive route in the Peresyp district, connecting key social and infrastructure facilities with the «North-South» tram line.

The planned route will run along the Prince Volodymyr Great Avenue from the intersection with Kіshynіvskaya Street to the intersection with Ak. Zabolotny Street, extending to the Odesa Regional Clinical Hospital, including access to the Administrative Services Center (ASC) on David Oistrakh Street.
This section of the route will feature elements of barrier-free environment: pedestrian paths, ramps, adapted public transport stops, parking spaces, and information systems to facilitate movement for people with disabilities.

Currently, the project is undergoing coordination with experts who are conducting inspections of the reconstruction sites.

Additionally, the working group with Kyiv experts visited Odesa's coastline to review the progress on establishing an inclusive beach and social infrastructure projects.
