New Investments in School Safety in Ukraine
During a meeting on April 18, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to allocate a subsidy of 830 million UAH for the establishment of shelters in educational institutions.
This information was reported by the government representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk, on his telegram channel.
"These funds are aimed at continuing the work on establishing shelters and creating safe learning conditions. 15 communities, as well as the regional budgets of Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Khmelnytskyi, will receive funding," Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal noted in his telegram.
He emphasized that over the past two years, the government has allocated a record 14 billion UAH for shelters in schools.
It is worth mentioning that in 2024, Kyiv allocated 2.4 billion UAH for shelters, improving fire safety in schools, preparing them for winter, and creating educational centers for the subject "Defense of Ukraine".
