Spring Preparations for Odessa's Fountains
The municipal services of Odessa are diligently preparing for the spring season. Specialists from the «Service Center» municipal enterprise are getting the fountain equipment ready for operation in the 2025 season. Traditionally, the first fountain to be launched is located in Theater Square, scheduled for April 1st.
Currently, the specialists are working on the fountains located in Theater Square, the Victory Dendropark (the «Mermaid» fountain), the Cosmonauts Square, the Cathedral Square, and the largest fountain at the corner of Ak. Zabolotny Street and Krymsky Boulevard.
The process of getting the fountains ready is conducted in stages, and usually by the end of April, all fountains in Odessa delight residents and visitors with their beauty. Unfortunately, due to current circumstances, not all fountains can be activated.
To maintain the fountain equipment in working order during the winter, functional elements such as nozzles, motors, and pumping equipment were dismantled and stored in designated areas at the enterprise.
Additionally, employees carry out daily maintenance tasks to clean and care for the assigned objects and areas.
Currently, ongoing repairs are being made to the water dispensing zone and the cleaning of fallen leaves from the roof and drainage systems of the well complex located on I. Rabin Street.
Moreover, specialists are repairing the tiled surfaces and taps in the water dispensing area of the well complex situated in Starobazarny Square.
Throughout the year, the employees of «Service Center» maintain the wells, monumental art monuments, fish ponds in the Victory Park, modular protective structures, city fountains, and their surrounding areas in proper sanitary and operational condition.
