Energy Saving Tips for Winter
According to the data from NEC "UKRENERGO", electricity consumption increases with falling temperatures. The energy system is still recovering from extensive enemy attacks.
The higher the device's power, the more electricity it consumes. A higher energy efficiency rating means less electricity usage. Pay attention to the devices you buy or use, as this can save you money and reduce the burden on the energy system.
Smart energy saving can help avoid overloads in the energy system and prevent potential failures.
Energy experts' advice on how to save electricity:
- Unplug devices when they are not in use (chargers, TVs in standby mode, etc.). Even in "sleep mode," household appliances consume a significant amount of electricity;
- Boil only the necessary amount of water to save time and money, and reduce the kilowatt demand on the energy system;
- Run washing and dishwashing machines fully loaded and preferably during nighttime hours after the evening peak. Choose programs with lower washing temperatures;
- Use energy-saving bulbs. Do not leave lights on in rooms that are unoccupied;
- Charge smartphones, laptops, power banks, etc., at night when consumption is lowest.
Energy experts also remind not to turn on several high-power devices simultaneously during peak consumption times: in the morning from 07:00 to 11:00 and in the evening from 16:00 to 22:00.
