Health Initiatives in Odessa: A Community Focus
Last week, a significant health initiative took place in Odessa, celebrating World Health Day.
The event was organized with support from the Odessa City Health Department and the City Health Center.
On this day, residents were able to undergo free comprehensive health screenings at local medical facilities. Services included consultations from family doctors and therapists, blood pressure and glucose level measurements, pulse checks, and ECG tests. Patients received electronic referrals for laboratory tests and specialist consultations as needed.
In total, 2,536 residents participated in the health screenings. Additionally, with the help of the Kyiv District Administration, 55 visitors and staff of the administrative building were examined.
During the screenings, 331 cases of high blood pressure and 200 cases of elevated glucose levels were identified. Following ECG tests, 258 patients were referred to cardiologists.
For patients needing further evaluation, 1,112 electronic referrals for laboratory tests and 640 for specialist consultations were issued. All patients received doctor consultations.
Health days are crucial for early detection of health issues, increasing public awareness of disease prevention, and emphasizing the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
