Cancer Awareness Week in Odesa
From February 2 to 6, 2026, healthcare facilities in Odesa will host a Cancer Awareness Week.
This initiative is organized with the support of the Department of Health of the Odesa City Council and the Odesa City Health Center, coinciding with World Cancer Day, celebrated annually on February 4.
During this week, all interested individuals are invited to visit their family doctors, who will conduct preventive examinations and, if necessary, issue electronic referrals for cancer screenings: breast ultrasound or mammography for women, Pap test for women, PSA test for men, stool test for hidden blood, fluorography, or X-ray examination of the chest organs.
To receive free preventive examinations, you need to consult your family doctor with whom you have signed a declaration. If you do not have a declaration, you can sign one with a family doctor at the healthcare facility you visit.
Timely diagnosis allows for the detection of precancerous conditions and malignant tumors at early stages, which can be successfully treated.
