Advanced Mammography Technology in Odesa

The Odesa City Clinical Hospital No. 1 has installed a state-of-the-art mammography machine, the Giotto Class 3D-C, located at 38 Bolgarska Street.
This advanced device utilizes second-generation tomosynthesis (3D mammography) to produce three-dimensional images of breast tissue with 1 mm thick slices. This capability allows physicians to detect even the smallest changes at early stages, significantly enhancing the effectiveness of prevention and treatment.

Benefits of the Giotto Class 3D-C mammography:

  • High diagnostic accuracy—cancers can be detected before symptoms appear.
  • Minimal radiation exposure.
  • Superior image quality—broad scanning angles, high sharpness, improved contrast, and reduced noise ensure clear and informative images.
  • Comfort and speed of the procedure.

Mammography is performed free of charge with an electronic referral from a family doctor or a specialist such as a mammologist, gynecologist, or oncologist.

The mammography room No. 718 operates on the 7th floor of the clinical center from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Advance appointments can be made by contacting the hospital's call center at (0800) 33 23 01.

Additionally, modern laboratory equipment and ultrasound devices have been acquired for Clinical Hospital No. 1.

Other modern mammography facilities are available in various districts of Odesa:
Kyiv District - Consultative and Diagnostic Center No. 20, 62 Levitana Street, tel. (094) 949 10 19, (048) 798 80 19.
Peresyp District - Consultative and Diagnostic Center No. 29, 100 Prince Volodymyr the Great Avenue, located within the trauma unit, tel. (048) 758 52 56, (048) 758 50 45.

For timely diagnosis of precancerous conditions and early-stage cancers, the National Health Service of Ukraine recommends women over 45 to undergo screening mammography every two years.

Women in high-risk groups should have mammograms annually—those with direct relatives who have had breast cancer or who have suspicious findings during manual exams or ultrasound.
