Success of Young Gymnasts from Odessa
Artistic gymnastics is a favored sport among the young girls of Odessa. From an early age, coaches at the Comprehensive Children and Youth Sports Schools No. 1, No. 5, and the Specialized Children and Youth Olympic Reserve Sports School 'Chornomorets' teach girls the skills of grace and flexibility.
In total, over 330 young gymnasts train at these institutions, with many displaying exceptional results in competitions at various levels.
Recently, Odessa athletes excelled at the National Tournament in Artistic Gymnastics 'Crimson Autumn', held from October 18 to 20 in honor of coach Luk'yanchuk L.V.
In the masters program, first places in their age categories were secured by Angelina Zhdanova from 'Chornomorets', as well as Valeria Kyrylova and Yulia Bondarchuk from Sports School No. 5.
Additionally, the teams from Sports School No. 5 won 1 gold and 2 silver medals in group routines, while the 'Chornomorets' team took home one gold medal.
The athletes were trained by coaches Angela Vasylenko and Yana Chupryna.
Overall, over 350 athletes participated in the tournament from Dnipro, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Zaporizhzhia, and Odessa, competing across 5 categories.
