Ukrainian Swimmer Achieves Milestone at World Championship
At the ongoing World Short Course Swimming Championships in Budapest, Ukrainian swimmer Vadym Naumenko, a student of the Specialized Youth Sports School «Dynamo», has advanced to the semifinals.
During the 200-meter individual medley, he set a new national record with a time of 1:55.35 minutes.
This achievement surpasses his previous record set at the European Championships in Romania in 2023.
Today, the 21-year-old from Odessa completed the 100-meter individual medley in 53.07 seconds, securing a place among the top 16 semifinalists.
Additionally, he broke the long-standing national record previously held by Oleg Lisogor since December 11, 2005, during the European Championships in Trieste, Italy.
The semifinals are scheduled for this evening, December 12.
