Final of the IT Championship: New Achievements of Students
The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, together with the National Ecological and Naturalist Center for Student Youth, held the super final of the All-Ukrainian Championship in Information Technology “Ecosoft” and the national stage of the International Computer Project Competition INFOMATRIX-2024 online.
As a result of the national championship, the Ukrainian team was formed for the final of the International Computer Projects Competition INFOMATRIX-2024, which will take place from May 31 to June 4, 2024, in Bucharest (Romania).
In the super final of the national competition, eight students from Odessa Lyceum No. 65 represented the city. They presented projects in the fields of programming, computer animation, 3D modeling, and short film production. This was the first competition experience for all participants.
At the national championship, the lyceum students received one first-degree diploma, two second-degree honors, and three third-degree awards.
The winners and prizewinners who will compete as part of the Ukrainian team in the final of the International Computer Projects Competition INFOMATRIX-2024 are:
- Yegor Bovkun, a 10th-grade student from Odessa Lyceum No. 65 with the 3D project “Model of the First Helicopter in the World”;
- Ruslan Maysko and Ivan Zmiyevsky, 8th-grade students from Odessa Lyceum No. 65 with the film “The Meaning of Life and My Place in It”.
The students received assistance in preparing their projects from computer science teachers Oleg Pustovoyt and Alla Omelchenko at Odessa Lyceum No. 65.

This year, the students of Odessa Lyceum No. 65 set a unique record, representing Ukraine at the international level for eight consecutive times. The unique multi-year experience of Odessa Lyceum No. 65 (since 2016) has been beneficial for organizing national-scale events. Teachers and alumni of the educational institution were among the organizers and included in the judging panel of the championship. The youngest judge of the competitions was 11th-grade student Yuliya Butuk (a participant and prizewinner of the last three world finals of INFOMATRIX). Computer science teacher Oleg Pustovoyt was appointed as one of the three curators for preparing the Ukrainian team for the international final.
