Ukrainian Aquathlon Championship in Odesa

On July 13, the Black Sea coast in Odesa hosted the Ukrainian aquathlon championship for veterans of physical culture and sports.

The event attracted 283 participants from cities including Odesa, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Bila Tserkva, Lviv, Donetsk region, Dnipro, Zhytomyr, Kryvyi Rih, Khmelnytskyi, Kharkiv, and more.

The swimming segment (1 km, 2 km, 4 km) took place in the coastal waters from the ‘Chaika’ beach (starting point) to the yacht club and back. The running segment (5 km, 10 km, 20 km) followed the Health Route from the ‘Chaika’ beach to the ‘Golden Coast’ beach and back.

In the overall standings, Andrii Kushnerov from Kyiv won with a time of 46:13, followed by Serhii Zviahin (Kyiv) finishing second at 53:18, and Odesa's Petro Vasyliiev came in third at 58:09.

In the long aquathlon (2+10 km), Odesa's Vadym Maslenikov won with a time of 1:13:01, silver went to Kyivan Serhii Chernyshov with 1:14:53, and bronze was claimed by Serhii Yanhicher (Kyiv) with 1:16:35.

In the standard aquathlon (1+5 km), Andrii Pechenyi from Kyiv took first place with 33:28, followed by fellow Kyivan Semen Tereshchenko at 34:07, and Odesa's Denys Poliakov secured bronze with a time of 35:08.

Among women in this distance, all podium spots were taken by Kyivans. Champion Aнастасія Ігнаткіна, Nadія Соміна took second, and Ірина Кротова finished third.

The event was organized by the Odesa Regional Triathlon Federation with the support of the Odesa City Council.
