Ukraine Triumphs in 3x3 Basketball Match

Today, June 18, the Ukrainian 3x3 basketball team commenced their journey in the second stage of the Women's Series taking place in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

Their first opponents were the German team, who put up a strong fight. However, the Ukrainian players proved to be the stronger side.

The Germans took an early lead, establishing a 4-point advantage. Despite their solid defense and offense, the Ukrainians gradually caught up.

Angelika Lyashko made the winning shot with a foul. By converting free throws with 20 seconds remaining, she gave Ukraine its first lead in the match (15:13).

In the remaining time, Germany attempted to come back, but airballs and a steal by Miriam Uro-Nile secured victory for the Ukrainian team.

Ukraine: Koval (5), Lyashko (4), Uro-Nile (4), Dubnyuk (2).

As a reminder, today, June 18, the Ukrainians will play their second match of the group stage. They will face the Singaporean team. This game will start at 13:20 Kyiv time.

It's also worth noting that at 11:30, Germany will play against Singapore. A loss for the German team guarantees a playoff spot for Ukraine in the Women's 3x3 Series. Moreover, a victory for Ukraine in the second match will allow them to advance to the playoffs from the top position.
