WTA Ranking Update: Ukrainian Tennis Players Shine

On Monday, June 9, the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) released its updated rankings.

Elina Svitolina, the top-ranked player from Ukraine, rose to 13th place after reaching the quarter-finals at Roland Garros. Leading the rankings is Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, the finalist of the French Open. American Coco Gauff, the tournament champion, holds second place.

Chinese player Zheng Qinwen climbed to fifth place from seventh. Conversely, Polish player Iga Swiatek dropped in the rankings after failing to defend her title in Paris.

In the bottom half of the top ten, Spanish player Paula Badosa and American Emma Navarro swapped places.

French player Lois Boisson, a surprising semi-finalist at Roland Garros, soared from 361st to 65th place.

Ukraine's second-ranked player, Marta Kostyuk, fell one spot to 26th after her early exit from the tournament.

Dayana Yastremska moved up three spots to 45th.

Julia Starodubtseva made significant progress, climbing 14 places to 67th after her debut third-round appearance.

Angelina Kalinina returned to the top 100, currently sitting at 96th, while Daria Snigur remained at 151st.

Alexandra Oliynykova reached her career-high ranking of 202nd, and Anastasia Soboleva improved her position to 244th after qualifying at Roland Garros.
