Ukrainian National Team Meets Diaspora in Toronto

The Ukrainian national football team players had a chance to engage with the Ukrainian community in Toronto.

Ukrainians residing in Canada had the opportunity to attend the exhibition titled "Ukrainian Football: The Game Continues" before its official launch.

During this event, players such as Mykola Matviyenko, Heorhiy Sudakov, Roman Yaremchuk, and Ivan Kaliuzhnyi were present.

Exhibition on Ukrainian football in Toronto - what you need to know

The exhibition "Ukrainian Football: The Game Continues" is opening in Toronto, where visitors can view original football trophies, coaching notes by Valeriy Lobanovskyi, and learn about how Ukrainian football is surviving during the war.

This unique project with over 200 exhibits is making its first appearance outside Ukraine to inform the global community about the formation and development of Ukrainian football, as well as its significant contribution to Ukraine’s struggle during the war.

The exhibition, titled “Ukrainian Football: The Game Continues”, will take place at Trident Centre in Toronto from June 5 to June 10 (from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM). Admission to the exhibition is free.

It was organized by the Ukrainian Football Association as part of the Canadian Shield tournament, in which the Ukrainian national team will participate.

Canadian Shield Tournament - essential information

The Canadian Shield tournament is a new international competition organized by Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE), SPORTFIVE, and MIB Sport Agency.

Four men's national teams will participate in the Canadian Shield: Canada, Ukraine, Côte d'Ivoire, and New Zealand.

The Canadian Shield competitions are positioned as a preparatory stage for teams ahead of the upcoming World Cup, part of which will take place in North America in 2026.
