Yarmolenko Reacts to His Exclusion from the National Team

Dynamo defender Andriy Yarmolenko reacted to the decision of Ukraine's head coach Serhiy Rebrov not to call him up for the upcoming Nations League matches.

Yarmolenko discussed this in Denis Boyko's podcast.

"Honestly, it was unpleasant, but these things happen in football. I understood that if I'm not called up, it means there are players who can deliver better results today."

"After being called up for 15 years and then facing this for the first time, it's only natural to feel a bit down. But what can you do? This is football and life. I need to work hard, and maybe next time I'll get the call."

In March, Yarmolenko returned to the main team and came on as a substitute in the second Nations League playoff match against Belgium (0:3).

This season, the 35-year-old player scored 10 goals and provided one assist in 30 matches for Dynamo. Recently, he celebrated his 113th goal in the UPL, matching the record of Serhiy Rebrov.

Prior to this, the player talked about extending his contract with the Kyiv club.
