Exploring the Invisible: Exhibition by Gennady Kim

“Exploring the Invisible”, art therapy and the awakening of spring: a new exhibition by Gennady Kim will open at the Bleschunov House.

Visitors to this exhibition will experience new artworks created by artist, theologian, and educator Gennady Kim over the past two years. During the exhibition, the artist will conduct creative meetings where attendees can work on their inner state through the use of color.

Gennady Kim works in the technique of pointillism, a style characterized by the optical mixing of colors, creating intricate effects that are not achievable through mechanical paint mixing.

Maria Apryatova, the curator of exhibitions at the Bleschunov Museum, notes that Kim masterfully employs this technique: “The artist conveys the subtlest nuances of color relations observed only in nature, and importantly, he captures even the shades of the sacred space, becoming a guide into the mysterious invisible world.”

In his new compositions, the artist utilizes acrylic paint for the first time, resulting in more contrasting works. Kim’s primary idea is to convey the invisible world through visible means of visual art.

“This approach allows us to feel thoughts and ideas through color and composition. A painting is a reflection of the unknown — an expression through visible images of that which is difficult to explain in words. These principles form the basis of art therapy, which helps to address spiritual and emotional issues in our inner world through color,” believes Gennady Kim.

The exhibition will be held at the Odesa Museum of Personal Collections named after O.V. Bleschunov from March 20 to April 15, 2025.

Visiting hours: Thursday to Sunday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
