Innovative Ballet Performance: Premiere of
The Odesa National Opera is set to present an exciting new ballet performance. On May 24, the theater will host the premiere of a two-act ballet performance titled "Lisova," inspired by Lesya Ukrainka's fairy drama "Forest Song."
According to the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications, this is an emotionally charged performance where nature meets the city, myth intertwines with modernity, and legend connects with genuine emotion. The creative team aims to bring to life a complex, multilayered world on stage, where every detail enhances the atmosphere of the performance.
A team of distinguished Ukrainian artists worked on the production: the theater's chief conductor, Honored Artist of Ukraine Vasyl Koval, choreographer and librettist, Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine Olesya Shliakhtych, set designer Petro Bohomazov, and costume designer Maria Rudenko. Additionally, the project includes video installation artist Andriy Savdeyev and lighting designer Pavlo Lytvynenko.
"Their collaborative artistic vision will bring to life the intricate, multilayered world of Lisova on stage, where every detail enriches the performance's atmosphere and immerses the audience in a realm where magic and human emotions confront the coldness of the modern technocratic world," noted the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications.
The performance promises to be a unique combination of classical ballet and modern technology, incorporating video installations and special lighting design.
