Innovative Learning: The 'Defense of Ukraine' Course
This January, teachers assigned to the newly introduced subject 'Defense of Ukraine' participated in a practical firearms training seminar organized by the public organization 'Stvol'.
They received both theoretical and practical insights into the use of various types of firearms from professional instructors.
During the seminar, participants enhanced their knowledge in safety, teaching methods for marksmanship, and working with specialized equipment.
The event was organized by the Municipal Institution of Extracurricular Education 'Odesa City Center for Military-Patriotic Education' with the support of the Education and Science Department of the Odesa City Council.
An open lesson on the subject 'Defense of Ukraine' took place at Odesa Lyceum No. 1 named after A.P. Bistrina, conducted by the distinguished teacher of Ukraine, Oleg Denysov.

The new 'Defense of Ukraine. Integrated Course' curriculum aims to foster patriotic consciousness and a value system while developing practical skills for life preservation. Its uniqueness lies in providing equal content for all students, ensuring equal opportunities in acquiring essential skills.
Thanks to the updates in the 'Defense of Ukraine' program, high school students will be able to:
- learn about different types of drones and their applications;
- provide first aid in combat situations;
- shoot with firearms;
- understand what information warfare is and how to resist hostile informational-psychological operations (IPSO).
