Exploring Romani Culture: Festival in Odesa
The Romani culture is a vibrant explosion of sounds, colors, and movement. Everyone had the chance to experience this during the Romani Culture Festival held in Odesa's City Garden as part of the «Multicultural Weeks in Odesa» initiative. Odesa's Mayor, Hennadiy Trukhanov, expressed gratitude to the Romani communities of Odesa for their support of this initiative and for crafting a unique cultural program. He also mentioned that May 21 marked Ukraine's first official celebration of the Day of Interethnic Harmony and Cultural Diversity.
«For Odesa, this date is not just a mark on the calendar, but a part of our lifestyle. We are continually working to create a space of mutual respect, and such events contribute to forming a harmonious and tolerant society. Odesa is home to everyone», — emphasized Hennadiy Trukhanov.
Festival guests had the opportunity to explore traditional Romani crafts, sample national dishes, and engage in various activities.
