ChatGPT Updates: The Launch of GPT-4.1 Models
OpenAI has introduced the new GPT-4.1 and GPT-4.1 mini models in ChatGPT. The GPT-4.1 version is available for ChatGPT Plus, Pro, and Team subscribers, while the mini version is accessible to all users, including those without a subscription.
The company claims that GPT-4.1 excels in writing and debugging code and executes instructions faster than previous models. With the rollout of these new models, OpenAI is discontinuing support for GPT-4o mini.
The GPT-4.1 models first appeared in the API in April 2025, but the company faced criticism for lacking a security report at that time. In response, OpenAI clarified that GPT-4.1 is not considered a 'leading model' and thus does not require separate verification like more powerful systems do.
