Training Workshop on Early Developmental Disorder Detection in Odesa

Representatives from health and social service institutions in Odesa participated in a training session aimed at the early detection of developmental disorders in preschool children. The training was organized by the Odesa regional organization of medical-psychological-pedagogical assistance "Healthy Society" as part of the project "Resilient Families, Resilient Future: Transforming Child Care Systems in Odesa and Mykolaiv Regions," supported by UNICEF.

The goal of the training was to further implement developmental screenings and refine the process of identifying family needs and directing them to early intervention services.

Early intervention provides comprehensive multidisciplinary support to families with children aged from birth to four years who have or are at risk of developmental disorders. Integrating developmental methods into daily life and enhancing family members' life skills helps to address identified issues and assist the child in adapting to society.

"Odesa is known as a pioneering city in implementing early intervention services. The collaboration of professionals will enhance the health and quality of life for children in need of early intervention," emphasized UNICEF early intervention project coordinator Tetiana Kutas.
